Why not drive one of the cars he tested at DriverDays.Co.UK

Formula Ford 1600 - 1973 - 1975

From a very early age, Duncan was trained at the Brands Hatch Racing school.

Before his 16th birthday he had achieved the accolade of being the youngest ever Star Pupil!

Formula Ford 1600 - 1976 -1977

As a privateer Duncan competed in the National Formula Ford Championship winning 5 races on his way to finishing 7th overall in only his first season of racing! At the end of the season he also competed in the World Formula Ford Festival, having over 180 entries of the best from throughout the world, 3 days of racing, heats, quarter final's, semi final's, which at the end left you with the fastest 28, who then lined up for the final!

Duncan was starting from 18th position on the grid. As the race got underway, he used his knowledge of the track to his advantage and by half distance Duncan had worked his way through the traffic and was now lying a creditable 6th overal just behind Derek Daly & Derek Warwick etc. A few laps later however he was unfortunately involved in a large racing accident which also sidelined 4 other cars.

The following season Duncan had numerous approaches from Formula Ford 1600 teams. After testing a few cars he was duly signed by the Hawk Racing Team. Unfortunately the car that Duncan had decided on, the Hawk DL17, was not performing and after a few disappointing races it was decided to take an offer from another team - Van Dieman.

In his debut and first races in the new car he won 5 and finished 4 more times in the top six.
In the later part of the season Duncan was unfortunately involved in a very big accident where 2 cars tangled wheels sending Duncan into a number of cart wheels. Due to the injuries that Duncan sustained, he was no longer able to compete in the rest of the 1977 season.

Formula Ford 2000 - 1987

Duncan was approached by a company in Kent who owned a Formula Ford 2000 racing car in-bits in a corner of their warehouse. He was asked, "If we sponsor you would you put our car back together and race it for us?"

Duncan spent over 4 months rebuilding the Reynard Formula Ford 2000, sometimes travelling 200 miles to purchase parts that were missing and by April 87 the Reynard was ready to go. Having already missed 3 rounds of the Formula Ford 2000 Championship Duncan, with the odds stacked against him was undeterred and giving 100% he finished in the top 5 in all the races that he competed in, rewarding his team and sponsors with a win at the final race in the championship which was featured on BBC Grandstand!

Even after missing 3 rounds Duncan still finished 3rd overall in the British formula Ford 2000 championship!
